CandidateSeeker.com NEVER spams.

We appreciate and respect all concerns regarding the use of electronic mail for commercial purposes. Every week we process thousands of thank you notes, resumes and job applications which arrive in response to our job opportunity notifications. Obviously these individuals are excited to hear from us and glad to know our service has benefited them. Still, we feel it is important to respect the concerns and dignity of every individual we might affect, especially those concerned with inappropriate bulk email. The following discussion and policy statement addresses the concerns of those who appropriately seek to maintain order and decorum on the Internet. We hope you’ll find that we’ve taken the correct and prudent steps to protect those individuals who are entitled to hear about job opportunities while at the same time protecting the rights of those individuals who wish not to be bothered. We are open to advice and new ideas. Please feel free to suggest changes to our policy that would improve our ability to serve you.

Generally, the Internet Community supports the use of electronic mail for commercial purposes but only in cases where it is "solicited" by the addressee in one way or another. Candidate Seeker agrees.

Candidate Seeker only sends email to individuals who provide their email address on their resumes, professional profiles, vitas or job applications. And, in cases where resume was collected via spiders, we obtain permission before emailing.

What about other email address sources? Candidate Seeker does not purchase or use third party mailing lists.

Internet associations, ISPs, the courts and the legislature, working together, have developed and continue to improve the nettique of today and tomorrow. It protects your right to refuse mail from undesirable parties and it also protects your right to recieve desirable email. Candidate Seeker obeys all laws and generally accepted Internet decorum. While the current and pending laws and practices regarding commercial email vary from state to state, province to province and country to country, Candidate Seeker aims not only to meet the requirements of all state and federal U.S. legislation but goes beyond requirements. Taking into consideration the law and the rights and concerns of those we might affect, we enforce the following internal policies:

  • Respect for Privacy: Candidate Seeker does not mail to any address unless it is submitted on a  resume through a source that clearly indicates that job notifications may be sent via email. We guarantee that any email address receiving a job opportunity notification from the Candidate Seeker system is associated with a specific contact's resume in our possession. Candidate Seeker does not use or purchase "mailing lists" from any source.

  • Removal From Future Mailing: Any recipient of a Candidate Seeker job opportunity notice can permanently prevent future mailing by pressing the "Reply" key and typing the word "Remove" into the subject box. That email address will be placed onto Candidate Seeker's permanent remove list. However, one should be cautioned. Candidate Seeker's patented method for job opportunity notification delivery is highly effective and cost efficient. More and more employers will be relying on Candidate Seeker as the sole method for notifying potential candidates of opportunities within their organizations. Removal is permanent. If one suspects that he/she might wish to hear about opportunities at a later date then it might be wiser to use the JOBOP filter technique described here later. Using the JOBOP filtering technique allows the mail recipient to effectively turn Candidate Seeker on and off at his/her own discretion.

  • JOBOP Filter: Candidate Seeker inserts the trademark-protected acronym "JOBOP" into the Subject box of every emailed job opportunity notice. When disinterested, recipients can set their email program filter to automatically trash any mail containing "JOBOP" in the Subject box. If at a later time, one should desire to view Candidate Seeker job opportunity notifications then he/she simply resets the filter. On the other hand, some email users set their filters to allow only email containing certain From addresses and/or Subject headings. In that case, the filter may be set to accept email containing "JOBOP" in the Subject box. Candidate Seeker has trademark protected the acronym "JOBOP" so that unscrupulous emailers may not legally use that acronym to pass through intended filters and enter email box where they are not wanted.

  • NO Teasers: "Teasers" is a term used to describe the detested practice of many unethical sales organizations to write misleading or false headlines or claims for the purpose of luring a prospect. Deceitful email advertisers will prompt email recipients with teasers to get them to open their message. Candidate Seeker does not permit the use of teasers. Every email must contain the acronym "JOBOP" and the title of the position in the Subject box.

  • Relevancy: Candidate Seeker uses a sophisticated automated system to determine the appropriateness of a specific job opportunity notice for a specific individual.  We do not allow advertisers to determine filter criteria. Instead, the criteria for selecting individuals is determined by a candidateseeker employed trained query artist, reducing the incidents of mailing to inapproriate candidates. That criterion is then used by a computerized system to make selections.

  • Truth in Advertising, No Product Sales and NO Fees: Candidate Seeker does not deliver job opportunity notices for companies that charge applicants fees. If one should discover an advertiser to be in conflict with this policy contact us immediately and their account will be closed. Advertisers must include the geographic location of the advertised position. Candidate Seeker does not accept product or service sales advertisements.

  • No SMTP Server Masks: Candidate Seeker uses its own SMTP Servers for mail delivery and to receive email responses for the companies and organizations that use our service. We never mask or hide our identity nor relay off others' servers.

  • Candidate Seeker's NO SPAM Affirmation Statement: "Spamming" is an Internet term describing the act of cross-posting the same message to as many newsgroups and/or mailing lists as possible, whether or not the message is related to the newsgroups' or mailing lists' stated topic. It also refers to e-mail "sales" messages sent in massive quantities to individuals who  did not "opt-in" to a mailing list, nor in any other way indicated their interest in receiving email messages from strangers. "Spammers" often notoriously hijack servers and bandwidth that they do not own in order to avoid the cost of electronic mailing and to hide their identities. Candidate Seeker supports efforts to prevent such abuse.

Relatively few recipients ask to be removed from future Candidate Seeker mailings. Why? Because they know Candidate Seeker will keep them informed of career opportunities within their professional market at no cost to them.
